Women’s Bible Study – Biblical Hospitality

Biblical Hospitality Bible Study
In May 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General issued an advisory on the “Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation.” He talked about the increasingly prevalent feelings of isolation, invisibility, and insignificance and offered small steps to strengthen our relationships and rebuild social connection. But since this is a secular document, there are two key pieces missing: our relationship with God and how that affects our relationships with those around us. In this study, we’ll look at how practicing biblical hospitality creates a bridge to the “isolated, invisible, and insignificant.” In contrast to the modern concept of hosting, biblical hospitality sees the needs of others and responds from the rich pool of blessings received from Jesus. As women, we tend to be relational and often have God-given gifts that make us more aware of and sensitive to the feelings of those around us. To nurture, encourage, and equip that tendency, this study will expand your understanding of biblical hospitality, demonstrate what it looks like, and provide practical application for your life.

Women’s Bible Study – Time: It’s a Gift

Time: It’s a Gift is a 4-week women’s Bible study providing a rich foundation of Scripture, both law and gospel, to guide us as we open up and look into using God’s gift of time. The goal is to equip us in the midst of a “no limits” society to make wise decisions in scheduling each day; to live biblically in all the seasons of our lives. God speaks clearly saying “Live in peace and be content.” We say, “How is that possible?” We’ll look at those possibilities. We also note that nowhere does God say, “Now here’s a great way to live a harried life!” Even in the midst of full schedules or time-on-our-hands schedules, may we say with the Psalmist David “My times are in your hands” (Psalm 31:15). The study is meant to be flexible to fit into four one-hour sessions, or to expand to fit a more relaxed agenda and deeper study of Scripture by making use of the “More Time” and “Taking it Home” opportunities.
